Nadia Dolce - Shallow Cover- Lady Gaga- Bradley Cooper- A Star is Born

Hey Sweethearts!

Kicking off 2019 with a special cover of "Shallow" from the movie a "A Star is Born ", starring one of my favourite musical Icons Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. This one features Neel Dani, we went to see this movie together on the big screen and I  managed to convince him to take on this cover which was recorded and arranged by him at ChorusMusic in Vaughan, Toronto. I got to play the keys on this one and I've been hard at work writing some new piano songs, exploring a different style to be coming soon.

Thank you Neel for taking the time and putting in the effort to make it happen! 💛We filmed this video cover with Creative Angle Media and I think they did a great job bringing my vision to life. Big shoutout to Jared! You can check it out below!

BACK TO BLACK - AMY WINEHOUSE COVER BY NADIA DOLCE

Hey Sweehearts,
My latest cover is one of my favorites of all time by none other than the legendary Amy
Winehouse. My Back to Black cover was a last minute idea. I had just recorded One Last Time by Ariana Grande with pink lips, a high pony and pink tee. It didn't really go with Back to Black so I packed on a little too much black shadow on my eyes and drew a moon and star on my cheek. Slapped on some dark lipstick (something like that) and moved on to my Amy cover. All that to say. a little goth but here it is!

JULIA MICHAELS- ISSUES COVER BY NADIA DOLCE

Hey sweethearts,
I just want to share that I will be sharing more and more covers on YouTube. I recently recorded
Julia Michael's Issues. This song just gets me in a really good mood. I absolutely love it! You'll notice, I've added an original rap in my cover. I was just singing along to the karaoke and started writing to it and decided to go with it. This is how I felt the song. It reflects the style that I'm working into my new material. I've been writing a lot of songs that I haven't posted yet but I am waiting for the right time. This is a good example of something you will hear in my future originals. Check the the vid out below!

MALIBU MILEY CYRUS COVER BY NADIA DOLCE

Hey Sweethearts!

I just bought a camera (link below) to film some YouTube videos and covers. I'm fairly new at using it and I don't have the proper lighting yet but I'm having quite a bit of fun recording. My Malibu cover by Miley Cyrus was filmed in the dark and it's pretty obvious to see but I really love this melody and Miley's new sound. I had to do so many takes cause there are so many lyrics that I just kept forgetting.😜 I finally decided to just post it anyway, despite the darkness and the huge headphones on my head which leads to the equipment I used to record. I bought the Scarlett Focusrite bundle which works pretty well. I love recording live. I still gotta adjust the sound right but hopefully I'll get it soon. After watching what I filmed, I realized I looked ridiculous with those headphones🤣and that I will eventually re-record it . I'm looking for alternatives if you guys have any good recording suggestions or tips. Here is the vid if you haven't heard my version yet. I hope you enjoy! Don't forget to sub for more vids!

il Piu Bello Dei Segreti- Il Cantagiro

Hey sweethearts,

It's already February 2017! The month of LOVE. The same month that also hosts the famous Italian San Remo Festival every year. I wish to someday sing on that stage and check it off my bucket list! In the spirit of that, I write this blog today, with the official release of a special composition. I will get to that shortly. 

I can't believe how fast time file but I can feel this is gonna be a great year. I've been keeping busy in studio preparing my indie album and working on new videos with my team. I've been waiting for the perfect time to release my latest tracks. They've been chilling in my laptop for way too long. I'm just really taking my time to get them right and I will very soon. 

In the midst of all the madness, I've gotten the opportunity to experience something wonderful at a renowned songwriting competition in Italy last October. I am due to finally post this song.—so many of you have asked and I'm finally putting it up on YouTube! I was chosen to represent Canada in the international category of Il Cantagiro. I came back to my hometown with pride and a victory for my performance of "Il Piu Bello Dei Segreti"(composed by myself & Pascal Mailloux). Many of you already know of my Italian background but those who are close to me know how much I care about my Italian roots and culture and what winning this type of competition means to me. I grew up listening to Italian music and a lot of my inspiration came from it. Many Italian stars performed at this show and it was truly an honor to be among these artists. Gratitude is everything and nothing is ever truly done alone… So, I take the time here, to thank those who supported me on this journey. Thank you to Stefano Giorgilli from the Universo Hotel, for his hospitality and kindness, as well as Emidio Buonamici for encouraging me to take on this last minute adventure and putting in the good word. A big thank you to Pat Buttino for sharing his guidance and believing in me to send me to the festival. The contest itself was amazing and took place in beautiful Fiuggi. A little frisky cause we are up in the mountains but "what a gem!". I was really living in the moment and didn't take enough pictures. Although, I regret not taking more, I think that I subconsciously just wanted an excuse to go back and visit again! That being said,  the level of talent in Italy is just tremendous. The organizers Enzo, Elvino and Mario were all very warm hearted and knowledgeable of the music industry. I got the opportunity to make friends, contacts and unforgettable memories. This was a last minute decision to participate but I am so glad I did! We miss out 100% on the chances we don't take. New experiences help us to grow and I still feel I have lots to learn. On that note, I leave you guys with my winning composition "Il Piu Bello Dei Segreti''. 

Song Background

This song was written in 2012 with composer/arranger Pascal Mailloux during the recording of my first studio album. The track was originally all italian and dressed up with lots of instrumentation. We stripped it down to acoustic and added some english verses bringing it back to life in late September 2016. The song is about an affair or forbidden love… A woman who speaks to her lover about this impossible love that could never be. Although this tends to be viewed as negatively, the emotions in this song are about  being content with the love they share and how their love story will always remain a beautiful secret…

Nadia Dolce - Christmas Single Now Available!

It was tough to keep it in for so long that I had co-write my first original Christmas song with the amazing Dave Stephen. YOU'RE ALL I WANT THIS CHRISTMAS! I was clearly inspired by Mariah's Christmas classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You". It was not intended to sound like it, although, I don't find it does. That being said, Mariah will always be the #1vocalist of all centuries in my heart. #Lamb4life. No intention to diss anyone… I just love Mariah! I  literally used to go to bed playing the "Fantasy album" in my cd player. :P

I'm back with great news about my single! It has been playing more and more across Canada & Quebec! It's really tough to break in this industry as an independent artist but I am hustling, writing and working hard on this new project. I am happy to announce my first time ever as a "Cover Girl"for STILE Magazine!
I was pleasantly surprised when asked by local journalist Marco Luciani Castiglia  to be on the

Nadia Dolce is back with her latest summer anthem "I Wanna Dance With You"

I am back this summer with my latest  single "I Wanna Dance With You"! I am so excited… It had been a while I hadn't put out an edm pop dance song. I am proud of this track and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I had fun creating this song. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Toronto based producer Wild Ace who produced the euro dance arrangement. I instantly clicked with the song as soon as I heard it and felt inspired to write a summer hit. I also can't forget the special touch of Canada's "Santana" of accordion players… Sebastian Carubia who put his magic into the song. Happy Valentines Day from Nadia Dolce

Hey Sweethearts!
I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a "Happy Vday" with your friends, family and loved ones. I've been out of touch with my blog and it's time to get back in the blogger spirit. Since I love to love and I am a true romantic at heart, this is the perfect day to share my love with all of you.

I've been recording a few videos of me singing in my kitchen just for fun. A couple of weeks ago, I was warming up before a show where I had to look a little like Katy Perry (which explains the pale skin and cherry lips look in the video below) but I recorded this quickly right before I had to leave and thought it was cute. Sorry about the screechy noises at the end but hopefully you still manage to enjoy some of it.

"To Cover or Not to Cover..." by Nadia Dolce

Hey Sweethearts!
For those of you who know of me, already know that I am a songwriter. I love writing songs...You can find some on Youtube, Soundcloud and iTunes :)  However, many of them I haven't gotten a chance to release yet but I am sure with time, more and more of them will come up. This blog post, I thought it would be cool to write about how I feel about covers & original music.

There's an amazing feeling that comes with singing something you wrote but there's also another great feeling that comes with singing songs written by others and interpreting lyrics you feel really connected to. Many people in my surroundings have told me not to sing covers because I am a songwriter and an artist, that I have my own songs and it is amateur to sing covers. This brought a dilemma "To Cover or Not to cover...". I don't feel it's amateur. Many of the big stars do it in concert and studio sessions. I find it shows appreciation for others music. I have a lot of respect for singers/ Youtube sensations like Christina Grimmie & Lisa Lavie who are amazing and do unbelievable renditions of covers. They both also write their own stuff too! I've let many people's opinions cloud my judgement and I just wanna do what makes me happy. When it comes to passion, music and art, I feel that there's no right or wrong answer. You just have to go with what you feel in your heart. As for myself, I will not stop writing my own material but I would like to cover some songs that make me feel good and also bring back songs that inspire me from the past. As well as Italian covers who are a big part of who I am as a singer today.

In the next weeks, I will post more and more videos of my originals as well as some covers who are not all hits... some that are simply personal favorites and hidden gems from popular artists. My latest cover is "Mercy"from Duffy. I really love this one cause I am going through this Soul phase! Eversince, I watched "The Sapphires":) and "Get On Up", the story of James Brown's... loved it!  You'll  also find my original song which is "Mr Rhythm & Blues" from my album "All Around the World" that is a little more dance but has some soul and similar elements.
